Location of Hollywood Beach
South of Fort Lauderdale and north of Miami, Hollywood Beach Florida stretches nearly 2.5 miles along the Atlantic Ocean from Highway A1A and Ocean Drive in the north to State Road 858 (Hallandale Beach Boulevard) in the south. It is surrounded by water with the Stranahan River in the west and the Atlantic Ocean in the east.
How to Get in Hollywood Beach, Florida
Hollywood Beach is accessible by car through Ocean Drive and Highway A1A in the north, Sheridan Street, Hollywood Boulevard, and Hallandale Beach Boulevard in the east. Highway A1A and Ocean Drive are the main roads that stretch north to south through the beach. You can also take a water taxi that makes stops in Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Other options include the Tri-Rail train which stops at both Fort Lauderdale and Miami airports, the Broward County Transit (BTC) cusses, and the Sun Shuttle. You can also walk or bike around Hollywood Beach.

Activities in Hollywood Beach
Hollywood Beach Broadwalk
The Hollywood Beach Broadwalk is the boardwalk that lines the beach and offers unique shops and outdoor cafes. You can jog, skate, and cycle, and even rent some bicycles to ride along the unique boardwalk, viewing the ocean and sandy beach on one side.
Ecological Parks
There are over 35 parks and 5 dog parks in the area, including a dog beach. Additionally, the Anne Kolb Nature Center offers 1,500 acres of mangroves and several trails you can take a boat down. There are also the Hollywood Trails, which offer walking and biking, including bicycle tours.
Arts and Culture
The Arts Park at Young Circle named after the city’s founder Joseph Wesley Young, features 10 acres of green space, and a children’s play area and interactive fountain. There is music, art and lots of educational and entertainment activities.
Water Activities
You can snorkel or scuba dive in the turquoise waters off of Hollywood Beach or in Greater Fort Lauderdale. Additionally, you can participate in surf fishing, catching fish while standing in the surf or on the shoreline on Hollywood North Beach Park, or the many beaches in the area. The BB&T Center hosts more than 200 events annually, including the Florida hockey team, Panthers. The Hard Rock Stadium hosts the Miami Dolphins and the University of Miami Hurricanes football teams and the annual college football bowl game, the Orange Bowl.

The weather in Hollywood Beach is gorgeous all year round with temperatures ranging from the high 50s to low 90s. The best time to go would be between December and April when the temperatures are between the high 50s and mid-80s and there tend to be fewer people around than in the summer months when many young adults and families visit the beach.
