Getting to Huntington Beach

Working Hours and Entrance Fee

Visitors are able to enjoy Huntington Beach all year-round. The operating hours are between 5AM – 10 PM. While the beach is free of charge, you will need to pay the parking fee of $2 per hour. Something to also have in mind is that there is also a maximum limit of $15 per day. 

When to Visit

Similar to other Californian beaches, the peak season at Huntington Beach is between May-September, when visitors are enjoying long hot summer days. The beach is also popular among Spring Breakers, so keep this in mind if you are planning on visiting the area during the Easter holidays. If you want to enjoy the beach with fewer crowds, try arriving early in the morning on a week day.

Staying overnight at Huntington Beach

If you are planning on staying overnight, as well, there are a few things to keep in mind. The RV season at Huntington Beach is from October until May. The Sunset Vista RV Campgrounds with a total capacity of 50 spaces is the closest to the Huntington City Beach and the most popular. Bolsa Chica State Beach RV Camping is situated north of the Huntington Beach Pier with 60 available spaces and is known to be the best for beginner surfers. Both campsites are perfect for enjoying breathtaking sunsets and early morning walks along the quiet beach. Visitors will find all basic amenities, such as electricity and water hookups, bonfire pits, showers, restrooms, etc. Being extremely close to the downtown area, also means that you can take full advantage of dining out in one of the various restaurants and do not need to worry about getting large supplies of food beforehand.

Facilities in Huntington Beach

This beach will not only impress you with its stunning white sand, but it will also surprise you with the huge variety of facilities that it offers. Visitors can find outdoor showers, public restrooms, beach volleyball courts, lifeguard, fire pits with picnic areas and much more by the beach area. If you would like to get some more information about the city, you can also stop by the Visitor Information Center and Kiosk, situated at the Pier Plaza, operational year-round. The beach area is also conveniently equipped with paved path, which makes is wheelchair accessible. As one of the longest piers along the West Coast, Huntington Beach Pier is approximately 1,850 feet long. Providing stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, it is certainly one of the most iconic attractions in the city of Huntington Beach. Taking a stroll down the pier and admiring the blue ocean and its crashing waves should certainly be part of your travel itinerary.
